About Saline Area Fire Fighters
The Saline Area Fire Department are first responders to emergencies
involving medical, fire, vehicle accidents, and other emergencies.
The Saline Area Fire Department serves the city of Saline and the
townships of Saline, Lodi, and York. In addition, they are part
of the network of first responders for Washtenaw County in the event
of a catastrophic event or other monumental emergency.
Where will the money go this year?
This year's event will benefit the Friends of Saline Area Fire
Department to help fund a partnership with Saline Area Schools to
tighten security for the district’s 5,400 children.
“The proceeds will be used two fold, to purchase software
for the Saline Area Schools that will be used to train staff in
all phases of life safety and to enhance fire and rescue capabilities
that already exist in the Saline Area Fire Department that will
ultimately benefit all area fire departments through mutual aid
equipment,” said Saline Fire Chief Craig Hoeft. “Everyone
wins!”
“We recognize that we are not exempt from any such potential
at Saline Schools and we take very seriously our responsibility
in prevention and preparedness,” said Ken Romans, director
of school security at Saline Area Schools who will facilitate the
training.
All of the community will benefit!
